Greetings, Sir Knights! The Triennial Conclave begins this coming weekend with some committee meetings and Drill Competition! Thank you for your commitment to our Order. I look forward to seeing you in Salt Lake City. (Please make sure to stop by the Hospitality Suite in the Garden area and chat with Brian DiMatteo, a candidate for Grand Captain General, and me.)
For over a year now, I have been sharing my thoughts with you through these brief messages. In just a few days, we’ll gather for Drill Competition and then the official opening of the 69th Triennial Conclave. One week from today, the voting members of this august Order cast their votes for our leadership team for the next three years.
I am asking for your vote, and I ask that you encourage others to vote for me as well. If you have any questions about my position on various issues and opportunities affecting our Grand Encampment, please ask me by email now or in person when we are gathered in Salt Lake City. I will be onsite starting Friday afternoon on August 16th, and invite you to stop by our Hospitality Suite in the Garden area with your questions or concern, or to say hello. Enjoy a beverage and some snacks, talk with other voting members, and of course, chat with Brian DiMatteo (Grand Captain General candidate) and me.
We have a great Order. There are things we can do to make it better, stronger, and healthier, but to do so requires leadership and leaders willing to make hard decisions, have tough conversations, put a plan of action in place that is going to work and make a difference, and stand shoulder to shoulder with you to accomplish the mission.
I have shared with you what I hope to accomplish as an elected leader—including updating our governing documents, improving our ritual proficiency, strengthening our connections around the globe, growing our charitable work (especially the Holy Land Pilgrimage). I love Templary, and I will do everything possible to strengthen it for the coming generations, just as my father, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers did for me.
Join with me in being part of the change we so richly need. Cast your vote for Art Hebbeler for Deputy Grand Master when we gather in Salt Lake City one week from today.
